Juvenile suspect identified in connection with structure fire at Dakota Park in West Fargo

(Fargo, ND) -- A juvenile male suspect has been identified in connection with a structure fire Tuesday, June 13th at Dakota Park in West Fargo. 

A city spokesperson says the juvenile male is facing the potential charge of endangering by fire or explosion, a Class C felony. 

As the suspect is a juvenile, his name and age will not be released. 

Police Chief Dennis Otterneess says the department had the suspect identified within hours of the incident. 

“I would like to commend our officers for their quick response and thank the West Fargo Fire Department for their ongoing partnership," said Otterness.

The fire caused more than $6,000 in damage to a building, which included public restrooms. 

The spokesperson says the case does not appear to be related to any recent structure fires in the metro.
