One injured in north Grand Forks stabbing

(Grand Forks, ND) -- One person was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed.

According to Grand Forks Police, at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North 8th Street on a report of a stabbing that had just taken place. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who had been stabbed. The victim, whose condition is not known at this time, and multiple witnesses said the suspect had left the scene.

Officers located the suspect, 48-year-old Eldrey Lane, of Grand Forks, a couple of blocks away from the scene of the crime. Lane was arrested for aggravated assault and taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

The victim's name is not being released at this time. Police say there is no danger to the public, and the victim knew the suspect.
