Mother, daughter recount moments shots rang out in officer-involved fatal shooting

(Fargo, ND) -- Chenoa Anderson, and her daughter Katriel Anderson, were one of the eye witnesses that saw 37-year-old Mohamad Barakat fire a gun in the direction of Fargo Police officers Friday afternoon in the vicinity of 9th Avenue South and 25th Street South in Fargo.

Barakat killed Fargo Police officer Jake Wallin, while seriously injuring officers Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes. A bystander also received injuries. Officer Zachary Robinson shot and killed Barakat.

The mother and daughter say Barakat picked up a gun from the back of a vehicle, pointed the weapon at officers and began shooting. They say they witnessed an officer fall to the ground and lie still.
