Update: Woman found dead, man in custody after standoff near Perham

PERHAM (WDAY) - UPDATE: 4:05 p.m. - A woman has been found deceased and a male was taken into custody after a standoff in Otter Tail County.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a third hand call that a male had hurt a woman and she was dead. The incident occurred at a residence East of Perham near Big Pine Lake.

Area residents were evacuated as multiple agencies responded to the incident including the Otter Tail County SWAT team.

The names of the male who was taken into custody and the female who was found deceased have not yet been released.

UPDATE: A representative with the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office told WDAY Radio Now at 3:40 Monday afternoon that an apparent standoff involving law enforcement officers continues on the south side of Big Pine Lake near Perham.

The representative would not provide any other details.
