Fargo Police Department reveals new slogan

(FARGO) -- In the days following last Friday's tragic shooting that took the life of Fargo Police Officer Jake Wallin, the Fargo Police Department is now unveiling a new slogan for the department -- WeAreFargoPD.

Police Chief David Zibolski says the department is getting through the tough times as a "strong family and strong team."

"As a part of that, we've also rolled out a slogan for community use," he said. "You'll see some wristbands with the slogan, 'WeAreFargoPD.'"

Zibolski says the idea behind the slogan is the partnership between the citizens of Fargo and the Police Department. He says the two are "partners in public safety."

"We want our community to be able to show support by wearing a similar slogan," he said. "So theirs is going to say, 'WeAreFargoPD."

Zibolski says that the internal staff at the department will wear a wristband with a similar slogan, but the department will likely allow for some customization for the individuality of the officers in remembering Wallin and fallen officer Jason Moszer, who was killed in the line of duty in 2016.

"It'll be a great way to show us (the department) support," he said.
