(Update: 9:53 a.m.) -- A semi-driver is being cited for Care Required after authorities say he fell asleep at the wheel.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the driver, 33-year-old Nathan Messmer, was driving along I-94 near mile marker 313 when he fell asleep at the wheel of a semi-truck, when entered the median and struck a cable barrier. The truck then rolled onto its side. Approximately 660ft of the barrier was struck in the crash.
The semi-truck was carrying sunflowers that spilled across the highway and in the area during the crash. Cleanup is still underway at this time.
Messmer was cited for Care Required.
An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

(Tower City, ND) -- A grain truck rollover caused one lane to close on eastbound I-94 this morning.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says they responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash near mile-marker 313 on eastbound I-94 at around 1:15 a.m.. Authorities say a commercial truck hauling grain left the road and struck the cable median barrier before rolling. The entire grain load within the truck spilled across the highway.
The unnamed driver was not injured in the crash. Recovery of both the vehicle and the grain is ongoing at this time. Due to the recovery efforts, one eastbound lane is closed until further notice.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol
