Accidental gun discharge leads to hospitalization

(CASS COUNTY, ND) -- A rural Alice man was taken to the hospital Sunday night, after a gun accidentally discharged.

According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, authorities responded to a medical situation in rural Alice at just before 7 p.m. Suniday night.

That's where they found 79-year-old Edward Joseph Roth with an accidental gunshot wound. Roth accidentally shot himself with the gun, while trying to put it away, according to the sheriff's office.

Roth was taken to a local hospital by Sanford Airmed with non-life-threatening injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.

The Cass County Sheriff was assisted by first responders from Buffalo and Alice.
