Sobriety checkpoint in Cass County results in one arrest

(CASS COUNTY) -- One person was arrested for DUI last Friday in a sobriety checkpoint in Cass County.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Vision Zero and Essentia Health jointly conducted the checkpoint between the hours of 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on County Road 26, east of State Highway 18 in rural Cass County. The Cass County Sheriff's Office said 67 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Of those 67 vehicles, 13 drivers were screened for impairment.

In addition to the one DUI arrest, 17 citations were written for Minor in Possession/Consumption and five were written for Open Container of Alcohol.
