Bridge damaged in incident involving semi hauling excavator

(CLAY COUNTY) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a crash involving a semi hauling an excavator in Clay County. According to Sgt. Jesse Grabow, the incident happened on I-94 eastbound at milepost 10, when a semi hauling an excavator struck the Clay County Road 17 overpass. The accident happened on Tuesday.

Grabow said the Patrol's inspectors were conducting an inspection, but says it is unknown whether or not the bridge was closed. WDAY Radio Now spoke with a receptionist in the Clay County Highway Department office who said the road continued to be open as of Tuesday afternoon.

No injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.
