North Dakota wheat harvest "satisfactory"

(Fargo, ND) -- State agriculture officials are characterizing the current harvest of North Dakota wheat as only satisfactory.

This according to Ward County grain buyer Morgan Hall, who told media sources that summer weather was on the dry side.

He says conditions might have negatively affected growth and yields.

Fortunately, Hall said, subsoil moisture was good at the beginning of the season, which helped offset lower-than-average summer rainfall.
