Moorhead man accused of striking light pole and storage building in vehicle crash

(Moorhead, MN) -- A Moorhead man is seriously injured after authorities say he entered a ditch, struck a light pole, and hitting a storage building.

Moorhead Police say 54-year-old Scott Hanson was traveling near the 700 block of Highway 75 North when he entered a ditch, struck a light pole and traffic sign, then crossed Highway 75 and struck a commercial storage building in the 2100 block of 7th avenue North. Authorities say Hanson was treated on scene and brought to a hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say criminal charges will be requested via long-form complaint once the investigation is completed. 

Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the case, but an investigation is still ongoing.
