First North Dakota grown grapes are named

(Fargo, ND)  --  The first grapes created in North Dakota have been named by researchers at North Dakota State University.

The types of grapes created were recently named Radiant and Dakota Primus.

Plant scientists say the two types of grapes are hardy and have fared well in the cold conditions North Dakota growers face.

The grapes won't be turned to wine for several more years.
