UPDATE: Water rescue in Red River called off

(11:30 p.m. Tuesday update): Fargo Police Department spokeswoman Katie Ettish tells WDAY/WZFG Radio that the search has been called off.

"A body has not been located," Ettish said in an e-mail.

 Fargo Police have identified the female victim from the altercation and recently took a statement from her.

The incident is ongoing, and no additional information is releasable at this time.

(10:55 p.m. Monday update) -- Ettish tells WDAY/WZFG Radio that the search was called off earlier this evening and will resume tomorrow morning.

(ORIGINAL STORY) (FARGO) -- Authorities are on the scene of a water rescue in Fargo.

According to Fargo Police spokeswoman Katie Ettish, at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 9 Lower Terrace North in Fargo. When the authorities arrived on scene, they attempted to interview one of the parties involved. The individual, an adult male, fled on foot from the officers and entered the Red River.

Officers quickly requested Valley Water Rescue and Fargo Fire Department to conduct a water rescue to locate the adult male

The search is still ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
