Large statue of Virgin Mary stolen from Fargo church

(Fargo, ND) -- A large statute of the Virgin Mary has been stolen from St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown Fargo. 

The police department says the statue was stolen September 10th.

The church in the 600 block of 7th Street North. 

The statue was taken from the rectory yard on the church grounds. 

Surveillance footage shows a man driving up to the property at 2:00 in the morning and putting the statue in his vehicle before driving away. 

Last January, a woman was arrested for damaging a statue of Jesus inside the church. 

In 2021, someone painted black the face of a statue of Jesus which stands in front of the church.
