Upgraded charges, arrest warrant issued for Fargo woman involved in fatal crash

(CASS COUNTY) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a West Fargo woman involved in an April 2023 fatal crash at the intersection of Main Avenue and 17th Street in West Fargo. The warrant comes after upgraded charges were filed in Cass County District Court.

According to court records, 28-year-old Taquoya Saldana is now facing two felony charges as of the result of the crash that killed 31-year-old Thomas Fradet of Fargo.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Fradet was westbound on Main Avenue on his 2020 Springfield Indian motorcycle when he attempted to make a left turn to travel south on 17th Street East. Saldana was eastbound on Main Avenue. Witnesses reported she was traveling at a high rate of speed. She then struck the right side of the motorcycle. Fradet was ejected from the motorcycle and transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Originally charged with reckless driving and driving under suspension, those charges were dropped in mid-May.

The charges are: Class B Felony Manslaughter - Adult Victim; and Class C Felony Negligent Homicide - Adult Victim. The court records show the warrant was issued on Monday is Cass County District Court in Fargo.
