Moorhead driver injured in crash while avoiding gathering of deer near Crookston

(Crookston, Minnesota) -- A Moorhead driver and three passengers are injured after swerving to avoid a deer.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Nichole Beito was traveling eastbound on County Road 252 near Crookston, when she swerved to avoid multiple deer in the road, landing in the ditch. Nicole was hospitalized with minor injuries. Mark Beito and two other passengers, who are 8 and 4 years old, also were hospitalized.

Nicole was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, while Mark and the two minors were taken to Riverview Hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time.
