(Fargo, ND) -- A big rig convoy will hit the streets in the metro to raise awareness and money for a good cause.

"I know our local law enforcement groups and across the nation worked with our trucking companies to create this unique partnership. It's just a way to get another group involved to help raise funds for our athletes," said Nancy Hanson, Special Olympics North Dakota President and CEO.

Hanson says the event gets underway Saturday morning at 9:00 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo.

At 10:30, the truck convoy will travel a route through the city and Cass County.

The day also includes an auction.

Hanson says the money raised will be used to put on year-round sports training and competition for more than 1,600 children and adults living with intellectual disabilities.
