Murder suspect arrested on I-94 charged with machine gun possession

(Fargo, ND) -- A murder suspect is being held in the Cass County Jail after he was arrested on I-94 near Mapleton.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Washington state resident Joseph Morrison was pulled over Wednesday afternoon for an alleged equipment violation.

Investigators say Morrison had an active warrant out for his arrest for 1st degree murder in a case in Des Moines, Washington.

Troopers say they searched the car and found a disassembled 9 mm Glock handgun that was modified to operate as a fully automatic weapon.

A woman with Morrison was also arrested.

She's identified as Washington state resident 20-year-old Ajannae Sancartier.

Both are charged with possession of a machine gun.
