Governor Doug Burgum and North Dakota legislators face challenge with budget

(Bismarck, ND)  --  Governor Burgum and state legislators are scrambling to rework the massive budget bill ruled unconstitutional by the North Dakota Supreme Court.

The governor says lawmakers will return to the capitol to determine the best course of action after nearly 70 sections of the Office of Management and Budget Bill were voided.

The state's High Court ruled yesterday the budget bill violates the state constitution because it is full of too many subjects.

Motions are being filed requesting more time for the Legislature to manage the changes.
