Fargo Police Department begins recruitment effort for January Police Academy

(Fargo, ND) – The Fargo Police Department’s recruitment for its next academy is underway.

Sgt. Travis Berger says the academy is open to anyone looking to get into a career with law enforcement. The Fargo Police Academy is a 13-week academy certified by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.

“We are looking for people that enjoy helping people and solving problems,” Berger said. He adds that there is no requirement to have a security or criminal justice background to join the academy.

“We value that life experience,” Berger said. “We’re made up of a lot of different people here, and we definitely like different walks of life.”
