Local treatment facility targeted by scammers

(Fargo, ND) – ShareHouse, Inc., a Fargo-based alcohol and drug treatment center serving adult men and women, says it has received reports of scams portraying local treatment facilities.

“We have received reports of a group of dangerous actors posing as representatives of local treatment facilities,” a post on the center’s Facebook page said. “These actors are flying people, who are looking for treatment, to other states. However, this is not the case, and instead these individuals are being placed in trafficking.”

ShareHouse operates in Fargo and Grand Forks.

“We only set up ground transportation to those who request it by calling our admissions department,” the center said. “We have never, and will never, offer to fly people to receive treatment in other locations.”

Anyone who receives a call or message from a ShareHouse staff member, and is uncertain if it is a scam, are asked to request the caller’s name and contact ShareHouse by phone at either 701-282-6561 (Fargo) or 1-877-294-6561 (Grand Forks).

Anyone who does receive a scam message is asked to call local law enforcement
