Fargo woman arrested after chase in Dilworth

(Dilworth, MN) -- A late night chase in Dilworth lead to the arrest of a Fargo woman on Saturday evening.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says they were told of a vehicle theft that occurred at the Casey's General Store in Dilworth at approximately 9:46 p.m. on Saturday. The vehicle was found a short time later by authorities, who attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver, Tonisha Salazar (24, Fargo), did not stop and a chase began shortly afterwards.

Deputies attempted multiple PIT maneuvers, including at the intersections of 37th Ave and 8th Street and 8th Street and 40th Ave S. A third PIT maneuver was successfully used at the intersection of 40th Street and 40th Avenue S, causing Salazar backed into a ditch near the intersection and hit a tree.

Salazar was taken into custody without incident. She is currently in the Clay County Correctional Facility on several charges, including Felony Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Felony Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor Driving after Revocation.
