Fargo teen injured in crash near Kindred

KINDRED, ND - One person was hurt when a pickup rear-ended a semi pulling an empty trailer in Richland County Tuesday night. It happened on Highway 46, six miles east of Kindred at 7:53 p.m. The State Patrol says Evan Fraedrich, 19, of Fargo rear-ended the semi which had slowed to make a turn. Fraedrich's pickup caught on fire, but he managed to get out beforehand. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. The semi driver, Allen D. Nelson, 64, of Fargo, was not hurt.

Troopers are still investigating the crash for possible charges. Heavy rain was falling at the time of the crash.

Highway 46 was closed for about an hour while crews worked to put out the fire.
