Fargo man tied to deadly drug deal sentenced

(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo man tied to a deadly drug deal will spend the next five years in prison.

Forty-one-year-old Marcus McCuin pleaded guilty to having a gun as a convicted felon earlier today.

Police say McCuin drove 16-year-old James Moore and a 19-year-old man to a West Fargo apartment to buy almost a thousand dollars worth of marijuana in February of 2022.

The group was reportedly trying to rob the suspected drug dealer when Moore was shot and killed.

McCuin was originally charged with the teen's murder, but it was later dropped.

He was the first of three people to be sentenced in connection to the incident.
