Updated: Suspect arrested as Fargo Police investigate reports of early morning gunshots

(Update :5:40 a.m.) -- A man is in custody in connection to an early morning shooting in Downtown Fargo.

Fargo Police say they heard gunshots around 1:25 a.m. in the 10 block of 7th Street  North. When police arrived, they found a 28 year old woman with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. In connection to the shooting, authorities arrested 30-year-old Kyle Ochoa. He is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. A preliminary investigation by authorities is showing Ochoa and the victim knew each other.

The case is still under investigation. There is no known threat to the public

It happened in the 30 block of 7th St. N. at around 1:30 a.m. this morning. Police have sealed off the area with crime tape as they investigate. We're told a woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and a man is in custody.
