(Fargo, ND) -- The West Fargo Public School District has notified families in the district that a former principal in the district, already facing chid sex abuse charges, is facing new allegations involving a student currently enrolled in the district.

In August, David George resigned from his position at Independence Elementary School after child sex abuse charges were first filed against him.

A district spokesperson provided the letter below to WDAY Radio Now that she says was distributed to families in the district Wednesday.

"On Monday, August 14, 2023, district leaders were informed of the arrest of former Independence Elementary Principal/ Cheney Middle School Assistant Principal David George. At that time, the investigating agency, the ND Bureau of Criminal Investigation (ND BCI), told us they had no indication that the charges were related in any way to West Fargo Public Schools (WFPS).

On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the ND BCI informed the district of a new allegation, which is related to a WFPS learner. Since this new allegation is part of an ongoing investigation, the district cannot elaborate further at this time.

Throughout Mr. George’s tenure with WFPS, the district never received a report or complaint from learners, parents/guardians, or educators referencing behaviors related to the offenses that Mr. George has been charged with. If there are any questions or concerns regarding the criminal investigation, please contact the ND BCI at (701) 328-5500.

The district has been and will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation."

This is a developing story.
