(Aneta, ND) -- A partnership between a 200 resident North Dakota town and the St. Paul District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to rebuild their water system.

The goal of the partnership is to replace and upgrade 47 blocks of sanitary sewer, 44 blocks of water main, manholes, service lines, hydrants, valves, repair streets, and sidewalks. The city is expected to provide $1.6 million to the $6.5 million dollar project.

“This project aligns with our environmental infrastructure program mission goals to work with rural communities in North Dakota to improve their water-related environmental infrastructure, and ensure safe utilities for residents,” said Corps’ Project Manager Michelle Prosser.

The project is expected to be completed in two years, once it has broken ground and begun construction.
