State Senator Rob Kupec says elected leaders remain focused on finding solutions for struggling childcare providers

(Fargo, ND) -- Minnesota State Senator Rob Kupec says he expects the senate to consider policy changes in the upcoming session aimed at providing more support to struggling childcare providers.

"A lot of it is the same things that other industries are going through. Obviously there is a very tight labor pool going on.  Regularly though businesses, chambers of commerce, they cite childcare as one of the number one issues that's preventing people from coming back into the labor force," said Kupec.

Kupec was among a group of elected officials who recently met with childcare providers in Fergus Falls to discuss possible solutions.

The industry is also being squeezed by the increasing costs of doing business.
