Woman in stolen car with flat tire evades law enforcement officers on I-94

(Fargo, ND) -- A woman in a stolen car managed to escape law enforcement officers Wednesday morning, even after the car she was driving went over stop sticks.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says it all began around 10:42, when the suspect stole a white Ford Fusion from the Holiday Gas Station near I-94 in Moorhead.

Stop sticks were deployed on I-94 near milepost 24, and one tire on the car deflated after the driver went over the sticks.

After the car went over the stop sticks, a deputy was pursued the vehicle eastbound on the highway, with speeds exceeding 100 miles an hour.

The suspect in the stolen car then exited I-94 at Pelican Rapids.

A short time later, the suspect got back onto I-94, but was traveling eastbound in westbound lanes of traffic.

At that point, law enforcement officers terminated the pursuit.
