(Fargo, ND) -- This year's student led "Fill the Dome" event set a record by raising more than $30,000 for the Great Plains Food Bank.

The students raised $10,000 more than any other Fill the Dome campaign. They also collected 100,000 pounds of food.  ‘Fill the Dome’ partner, Hornbacher’s, also had their largest total donation, with 6,305 bags of groceries sold to help those in need.

Great Plains Food Bank CEO Melissa Sobolik said 37,000 people in Cass and Clay counties needed food assistance this year.
