(Alice, ND) – A 71-year-old Lisbon man is dead following a head-on crash in the Cass County community of Alice.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Cass County Road 38 and 6th Avenue in Alice. A 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by the 71-year-old man, was southbound on Cass County Road 38 entering Alice.
At that time, a 2007 International semi, driven by 25-year-old Christian Mueller, of Hodgeville, Saskatchewan, was northbound approaching the Jeep. The Jeep crossed over the centerline, into the northbound lane and struck the semi head-on.
Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lake.
The 71-year-old male was treated by first responders on scene, and died on scene from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Mueller was uninjured.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
