Sprague: Nearly 700 absentee ballots sent out for special FargoDome election

(Fargo, ND) — The Fargo City Auditor says nearly 700 absentee ballots have been sent out for the upcoming special election regarding the FargoDome.

Nearly 300 ballots have been returned, according to Fargo City Auditor Steve Sprague. The City continues to process ballots “on a daily basis,” he said.

Sprague said residents who want to send in an absentee ballot request should do so “as quickly as you can,” so the mail can process the ballot. All absentee ballots must be postmarked no later than Monday, December 4.

In-person early voting is possible, Sprague said, but due to the city handling the special election internally, those wanting to do so should allow 20 to 30 minutes for the process to complete. The in-person early voting takes place at Fargo City Hall in the Auditor's Office.

The special election will be held December 5. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at three locations — Ramada Inn, 3333 13th Avenue South; the FargoDome, 1800 North University Drive; or the Civic Memorial Auditorium, located at 207 4th Street North.
