Red River Valley SWAT to conduct training exercise tonight at Northview church

(Fargo, ND) -- Local authorities are warning of a publicly visible training exercise that is taking place today. 

The Red River Valley SWAT Team is participating in a training exercise on December 7th between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Northview Church in Fargo. SWAT Team members will be carrying firearms in their training exercise, but will not be using live rounds. Loud noises and shouting can also likely be heard as the exercise progresses.

In addition, the building will be surrounded by emergency vehicles with activated emergency lights. 

The exercise is closed to the public and to the media. Authorities say there is no risk to the public with this event.
