Updated: Former North Dakota House member found safe after Fargo Police asks community for assistance

12.13.2023 | 6:20 a.m: A former North Dakota lawmaker from Fargo, who suffers from dementia, was found safe last night after police put out an alert asking for help finding him.

Steve Zaiser disappeared around 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Police say he was located safe about 3.5 hours later. Zaiser, the former Executive Director of River Keepers, served in the North Dakota House from 2003-2014.  
 

7:45 p.m. update: Fargo Police have confirmed Zaiser has been located and is safe.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: (Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police are asking for the public's help in finding a vulnerable male.

Steven Zaiser, a 72-year-old male, was last seen on Tuesday, December 12, at 4:25 p.m. in south Fargo. Steven is 5'7" and 190 lbs., with blue eyes and white hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue pants.
