Coin sells for $50,000 in charity auction on WDAY Radio's The Coffee Club

(Fargo, ND) -- A listener of WDAY Radio has donated $50,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley during a charity auction on Thursday.

The 1896-S Liberty Double Eagle AU58 Gold Coin was sold on WDAY Radio's The Coffee Club for $50,000, with the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Red River Valley. The previous high bid to the Ronald McDonald House was in 2022 at $40,000. That bid was submitted anonymously on WDAY Radio's The Coffee Club with Janae and Ronnie.
