Fargo mother who slapped baby sentenced to supervised probation

(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo woman who slapped a two-month-old baby and sent a video of the abuse to the child's father has been spared jail time.

Stacy Bellecourt was arrested last July, and the baby's father says she slapped the child because she was mad that he was spending time with other women. She pleaded guilty to child neglect, possessing marijuana, and simple assault last Thursday.

Bellecourt was sentenced to three years of supervised probation and was ordered to undergo mental health treatment and a chemical dependency evaluation.
