FPS officials discuss draft plan to build several new schools, consolidate others, and more

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Public Schools is continuing to speak with district students, parents, and staff about a draft plan for an update to several buildings.

The draft plan was shared among a group gathered at Fargo North High School on Thursday. The long range draft plan, which would cost an estimated $600 - $650 million, would look to build three new elementary schools, update 10 schools with condition or educational adequacy improvements, consolidate four schools, construct two early childhood centers and middle schools, and build a new high school. 

In addition, the plan would look to increase capacity at the central region middle schools, establish cleaner and more consistent boundaries, improve utilization of the schools, and reduce the average age of the facilities district wide.
