West Fargo fire chief touts big reductions in response times - "fires can quadruple in size in a matter of ten seconds"

(Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller is touting a big reduction in fire service response times in the city, thanks to the new fire station.

Fuller says for fire calls in planning zone one, response times went from 8 minutes 36 seconds in 2022, to 5 minutes 20 seconds in 2023.

"We know through science studies now, that fire dynamics and modern buildings, that fires can quadruple in size in a matter of ten seconds," said Fuller, while emphasizing the importance of crews getting to fire scenes as quickly as possible.

Also, response times for medical calls in the same area, during the same time period, went from 8 minutes 49 seconds to 4 minutes and 34 seconds.
