(Fargo, ND) -- Training for school board activism is being offered here in the metro.

"The school boards control the curriculum, they control the budget, and it's very important for parents indirectly through the school board to be in control of their children's education," said Jared Hendrex, a representative for the group ND First.

Hendrix says the training will include focusing on topics including "everyday activism", communication and messaging, and candidate recruitment.

The event takes place Tuesday night from six to nine at the Rustad Center in West Fargo.

Registration takes place online at ND FIRST dot ORG.
