Investigation ongoing after body found in Moorhead camper and vehicle fire

(Moorhead, MN) -- Several authorities say a body was recovered from a camper fire that occurred early Thursday morning.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., Moorhead Police and Fire departments responded to the 1900 block of 1st Avenue North for a reported vehicle and camper fire. Crews entered the camper and found a deceased adult male in the vehicle. The body of the male is expected to be transferred to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire and the death are under investigation at this time. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office is also contributing to the investigation.
