SWAT aids in high risk search warrant execution Monday

(Fargo, ND) -- At approximately 8 p.m. Monday night, the Red River Valley SWAT Team assisted the Fargo Police Department, Metro Street Crimes Unit, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service in executing a high-risk search warrant in connection with a fugitive investigation in the 1300 block of 5th Ave. N.

During the execution of the search warrant, the SWAT Team utilized a Flash Sound Diversionary Device (FSDD) to create a loud bang and bright flash of light. The FSDD is used to distract suspects, allowing officers to perform tasks that may put them in danger.

This collaborative effort resulted in two individuals being arrested. Terrica Thompson (35-year-old Memphis, TN resident) was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Memphis, TN for Second-Degree Attempted Murder. Christopher Butts (a 41-year-old Memphis, TN resident) was arrested for an outstanding federal warrant for charges related to narcotics and firearms.
