(Fargo, ND) -- The City of Fargo is hosting two public events to discuss homelessness, and are inviting a member of the Milwaukee community who was key to tackling it back in Wisconsin.

James Mathy, the Administrator of Housing Services Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, will be joining several members of Fargo Cass Public Health and the Harm Reduction Team to speak on potential solutions that could happen in the F-M metro. Described as a catalyst for action, the conversations is expected to highlight a housing-first approach to reducing the homeless population. Mathy says this approach has led to drastic drops in unhoused individuals, citing a 92% drop since 2022.

Where we started was just about whats going to happen tomorrow," said Mathy. "This is really similar to how we kicked off our programs."

The events are taking place at two locations and times on Wednesday, February 21st.

  • Fargo City Commission Chambers | 225 Fourth Street North, Fargo: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Fargo Theatre | 314 Broadway North: 7 p.m.
