Cass County Electric Cooperative names Paul Matthys new president and CEO

(Fargo, ND) -- Paul Matthys has been named new president and CEO of Cass County Electric Cooperative.

“I am very grateful to the Board of Directors for granting me the exciting opportunity to be the next chief executive officer and to lead Cass County Electric Cooperative. The safety of our employees is my number one priority, and providing reliable service and stable electricity costs to our members is vital to me,” said Matthys.

During his 23-year tenure at the cooperative, Mathys has held the positions of energy management and conservation advisor, manager of energy services, and key accounts executive.

Since 2015, he has held the position of vice president of member and energy services.

In this role, he was responsible for providing leadership and guidance to CCEC’s marketing, economic development, member services, legislative, community, member and public relations, and communication functions.

“After hiring the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association to conduct a regional candidate search, the board of directors decided Paul Mathys was the best candidate to be the next CEO and lead Cass County Electric Cooperative into the future,” said current Board Chairman Glenn Mitzel.
