(Fargo, ND) -- Plows are moving across the metro to clear out piling snow on several area roads.

Fargo Public Works Director Ben Dow spoke with us in a conversation about today's winter storm, which swept through the region and caused poor travel conditions across the Red River Valley. A couple inches of snow has fallen in Fargo-Moorhead. Heavier amounts are reported to the north of us. Chief Meteorologist Dean Wysocki says 9.5 inches was reported in Portland, North Dakota, which is in Traill County.

Conditions are expected to improve throughout the day, as the storm begins to leave the region. You can learn more by clicking here
