(Fargo, ND) -- A group of Fargo and Moorhead residents are expected to walk in support of a proposed ceasefire resolution between Israel and Hamas.

CODEPINK is "marching in solidarity" with Palestinians, who the demonstrators say are facing genocidal conditions. The sit-in will begin at the Fargo City Hall lawn on Thursday at 3:45 p.m., with the walk progressing at 4:30 p.m. to the Hjemkomst Center and the Moorhead Human Rights Commission.

“We are hoping to send a message to our local leaders that we shouldn’t stay silent on such a dire crisis fueled by millions of our own community’s tax dollars,” says Kyle Feldhake, a member of CODEPINK Fargo-Moorhead. “The deaths and famine in Gaza are only getting worse, and likewise, the calls from the community to support a peaceful settlement are only growing.”

CODEPINK, a national anti-war group, points to success at the Fargo Human Rights Commission, who passed a resolution after pressure from ceasefire supporters in Mid February.
