West Fargo Police arrest suspect after chase ends in Fargo

(Update: 12:58 p.m.) -- Two suspects are in custody following an early morning pursuit that ended in Fargo.

West Fargo Police say they spotted and attempted to stop a vehicle in the 800 block of Main Ave East. Authorities say the driver, Joel Maye (35, No permanent address), then led officers on a pursuit. The chase ended near University Avenue.

Fargo police did assist with the incident.

West Fargo Police arrested Maye and his passenger, Kayla Patneaud (34, No permanent address) for outstanding warrants. Maye is also facing possession of a stolen vehicle, felony reckless endangerment, and felony fleeing in a motor vehicle

A spokesperson with the West Fargo Police Department confirmed an arrest occurred this morning, no injuries were reported, and there is no ongoing threat to the public, but did not elaborate further. Initial accounts indicate a pursuit ended in the area of Main Avenue and South University Drive in Fargo. WDAY Radio reached out to Fargo Police, and learned they were not involved in the incident.

The suspect was not identified to the public.
