(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo lit City Hall and the Spirit of the Sandbagger monument with both Easter and Trans Day of Visibility lights, which caused thousands of reactions and hundreds of comments on their social media pages.

Trans Day of Visibility, which takes place on March 31st every year, also happened be the same day as Easter this year, which happens the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. Fargo chose to celebrate both the Trans Positive holiday on March 30th and Easter on the 31st with light displays, leading to an outcry from some community members.

"Thank you for taking a stand against hate and fear with both displays." said Patrick Sommer in a comment.

"Trans rights are human rights. Ignore the hate and negative comments that are probably gonna happen here. There is 10 times more love and support. The haters are only loud cause they are trying to fix things inside themselves and that’s not a reflection on you." wrote Jessica Bengtson.

"Your city leaders should be removed. This is a slap in the face to any Christian anywhere" wrote Philip Summa.

The post for Easter, as of this publication, had 103 reactions and 31 comments. The post for Trans Day of Visibility had over 1,100 reactions and 553 comments in the same time period.
