(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn says he missed the Monday meeting due to safety concerns.

The City Commission voted 2-2 to not approve an Israel and Palestine ceasefire resolution with over 60 Palestine supporters and a dozen speakers in the room, and Piepkorn was notably missing. Speaking with us, Piepkorn says he would not have been safe in the building, citing what he calls "inadequate" security. He also says some city staff has become concerned, and have moved to be closer to exits.

WDAY Radio is reaching out to city staff for more details.
