(Fargo, ND) - An activist in Fargo who painted the Pokémon character "Charmander" on a local railroad bridge has pleaded guilty to criminal mischief.

The incident happened last August, and activist Wess Philome's attorney argued that the drawing was temporary art, not graffiti, and didn't cause any damage to the bridge.

On Wednesday, a judge initially ordered Philome to pay a $400 fine for the vandalism, but amended the sentence to allow him to complete 40 hours of community service instead.
