(Moorhead, MN) -- The Freez in Moorhead is facing criticism from social media after a reason for a recent firing went viral in the Metro.

According to the Facebook post, an employee of The Freez was offered a $100 tip, and the customer was told by the employee they could not accept it. The tip was then left in the tip jar. The Freez owner then allegedly accused the employee of "taking" the $100, and terminated days later. The post shows a picture of an Employee Warning Notice Form from The Freez, which claimed "no one in their right frame of mind tips $100" in a place where each item on the menu is under $12, and that "the business would be looked down on as a place that takes advantage of the elderly."

As of this publication, the post has nearly 950 reactions and over 700 shares. You can view the original post by clicking here.

WDAY Radio has reached out to The Freez's ownership for a statement. If one is given, it will be published here.
